Nothing makes me quite as happy [at work] as the honor of photographing new parents so full of love for each other and their new family. I love when their loves shines so bright it makes you giggle a little bit behind the camera. When you’re behind that camera waiting for the right moment to release the shutter, you see all kinds of things. A good day is when you see all the right things . . . the glances at each other, the confidence in kind words spoken, the sweet kisses on the newest nose in the family, . . . even the excitable but easily calmed Labradoodle demonstrated he felt so loved and content just to be with them. Such a lovely family and a fun day in Houston. Can’t wait to see this little guy grow up!

Happy First Birthday Cora!

I always love to peek back at their newborn sessions after they turn one. I never cease to be amused by the changes!! Check these two out a year ago at their house.  Pretty cute sisters I tell ya.

Have you ever listened to the Boat Song by JJ Heller?? It’s one of my favorite & I always think of it when I do a one year session for some reason (I think she wrote it for her baby girl around that time maybe?) . . . anyway . . . Do listen! It’s insanely sweet.

Sadie’s 1st birthday in the Forest. It was hot (bless it) and we somehow managed to accidentally invite every mosquito in Texas to her session. BUT, it was so worth it . . .

And, check this out, this was her big brother at the very same age! Can you believe it has happened again? . . . I remember pulling up to her newborn session and chasing him around the sofa while she snoozed the day away like it really was yesterday!? Here we go again . . .

I just have to add . . . Her mom brought a smocked dress she wore when she was this age. I just love that about her:o)

Here they were just a blink or two ago at baby sister’s newborn session. He was the newborn just a minute ago and now he’s the big brother just like that! Well, mostly big.

My favorite thing was watching her smile change from the serious, soft, inquisitive face she gave me and the full on goofy smile she freely gave her mom. The good smiles were reserved for her one and only!!
