This age . . . wow. It was just so obvious as I was processing his images that he is on the verge of new milestones. Innocence is sneaking away. He’d be a silly kid one minute & I’d say just the right thing and BAM, he’d cut those eyes at me. And, as much as moms hate when their sweet babies roll their eyes clear through the roof (guilty right here . . . still to this day . . . my husband is nodding his head as he reads this), there’s a split second just beyond that eye roll that makes for a killer picture. You get a very brief, unguarded peak right into their essence. I love the awkwardness and uneasiness of adolescents. They don’t quite know how to guard themselves yet, but are quickly discovering . . .
