In fact, I did advise against it when her mom asked me;o)

Then, she did the unthinkable. She begged (pretty please with a home made dress on top).

So, I crumbled.

And I said, “ok. BUT, there is so much that could go wrong & you have to remember that. AND, we only have 45 minutes!! So, we might only get 1 picture. Are you suuuure??!”

yes!!! she says. She may have had more faith than me;o)

On that note, I am excited she now has these pictures of her sweet FOURTH baby. wow.

In all of the 10 frames we shot – that baby smiled twice!

(I should note that we had a bed just adjacent to us to get this sweet baby ready on. We did all of the settling there & moved her for a quick picture. An assistant [a highly over qualified one at that;o)] was also sitting here beside her.)

Aren’t his doting “big brothers” cute? They checked on him when he cried. I think it’s cool how dogs are intuitive like that. Our dog always sat by my girls with his back to them like he was guarding them when they were babies. Now he just runs & hides from them!

So, I’ve seen a lot of dads & newborns. I dare say this is the proudest daddy I’ve ever seen. He was glowed when he looked at this baby – like couldn’t get enough of her complete with a giddy grin on his face. Very special.

Too perfect.

This little tiny peanut was born at 29 weeks gestation! That is no small feat if you don’t know much about neonatal development. Quite impressive.

This was a  fun session. His momma is a NICU nurse & I have about 10 years of experience in the NICU as a developmental feeding therapist. So, between the two of us, and all our combined baby handling experience we worked him over! (in the gentlest way of course) I have smiles as proof;o)

It was a breeze. And totally enjoyable.

He’ll be back! I can’t wait to watch him grow this year!

And a sweet little baby boy at that. The cool thing about working with your friends . . . His momma shows up bright & early in the morning on the day of his newborn session. We were both still in our pajamas. We did half the session that way, then I got dressed & put on make up while he ate. Then we took a lunch break, I took my girls to ballet, her girls got out of school.

Then we resumed where we left off with his big sisters! One of the advantages of being one of my good friends & living just across the greenbelt. That should be enough to raise our property value right there??! right? come on.

These were taken just before Christmas . . . so yeeeesssss. We are done with the Christmas light bokeh for now. They live all the way on the other side of Houston from me, in Memorial . . . I didn’t even know where Memorial was until this day! I’m serious. I never leave The Woodlands. (except when I’m paid to!) Beautiful area. I was surprised at all the huge trees! I guess that’s one of the reasons people like that area. I get it now. They made such a pretty backdrop for out door pictures. Gotta love Houston – a week before Christmas & dad broke a sweat.
