Yes, I’m still in business . . . a little too busy these days. So much so that I don’t want to deal with the “to do” list beside me . . . I’d rather spend too much of my time watching this spider! He’s amazing and he lives in MY backyard:o) We have been watching him all week. You can’t see his web until it’s dark & you turn on the porch light & then TAh-DAH! It’s really beautiful. It’s huge – it stretches from the house out to the pine tree island. I miss my macro lens . . . it wouldn’t fit my new camera . . . so . . . these aren’t the best, but this web gets me all excitable every day. It was absolutely perfect until our crazy Yorkie attack dog had to go out for his nightly rounds. He was extra wound up that I was on his radar. He busted one little strand that must have been connected at the ground level & it ruined a lot of hard work. It must be frustrating to be a spider. I’m waiting to see how long it takes him to fix it. Our whole family has been amazed by him, but I just can’t seem to step away from the back door . . . so busy & so perfect . . . how does he know how to do that?? It just amazing . . . he runs to the middle and then dances out each little vein of the web to the outsides and then back to the center again. I guess he’s collecting all of his “treats” and then taking them home? He’s fast. It’s cool. I like him. I hope he stays a while.
My 2 year old wanted to know if she could hold him. “Can I hold him in my little hand mommy?’ . . . (me) “Ummmmm . . . . NO!” . . . . “Is he a biter?” . . . (me) “they all are sweety”. I didn’t go as far as my friend who would have said, “If you touch a spider he’ll bite you and you’ll die!” She really does that! But, she has a boy too. ;o)
